Signs and Symptoms
Appearance of nodules looking like the thorns of Śālmalī (red silk cotton tree) on the face of young people is known as Yuvānapidakā.
Treatment
External Applications
1. Prepare Lepa of Priyāla (cuddapah almond) in Godugdha (cow’s milk) and apply on the acne.
2. Lepa of thorn of Śālmalī (silk cotton tree) prepared in Dugdha (milk), to be applied on the acne.
3. Lepa of Jātīphala (nutmeg) prepared in water to be applied on the acne.
4. Lepa of Śuddha Ṭaṅkaṇa (purified borax) – 6 g. prepared in Jātī Taila (jasmine oil) – 12 g., to be applied on the face and retained overnight.
5. Lepa prepared from the seed of Masūra (lentil) – 12 g. by grinding in 50 ml. milk and mixing with 12 g. ghee, to be applied on the face.
6. Lepa of equal part of Śuddha Ṭaṅkaṇa (borax) and Śukti Bhasma in honey, to be applied on the affected part of the face.
