Ayurvedic Home Remedies For Adherent Leucoma

1. Savraṇa Śukla: It is moderately deep minute ulcer of the cornea with little warm discharge and pain. 

2. Avraṇa Śukla: Due to Abhiṣyanda (conjunctivitis) or ulcer, a whitish spot of varying thickness appears in the cornea and due to which the vision of the patient is impaired and he sees things cloudy and has the burning sensation, this condition is known as Avraṇa Śukla.

Treatment

1. Decoction of rootb-bark of Nīśotha (turpeth) 7 to 14 ml. is to be taken with Ghṛta (ghee) – 12 to 24 g. thrice a day.

External Applications

1. Prepare Poṭṭalikā of bark of Lodhra, keep in hot water and foment the eye. 

2. Foment the eye with the decoction of root of Yaṣṭimadhu (glycyrrhiza), stem of Sārivā (Indian sarsaparilla) and bark of Lodhra. 

3. Prepare drops from stamen of Kamala (lotus), Drākṣā (raisin), roots of Kākolī and Yaṣṭimadhu (glycyrrhiza), VIdārīkanda (giant potato tuber) by boiling in milk. Its 2 to 4 drops are to be instilled in the eye. 

4. Drops of Kamala-Siddha-Jala are to be instilled in the eye. 

Añjana 

1. Fine powder of Saindhava (rock salt) to be applied as Añjana thrice a day. 

2. Mix honey in fine powder of equal part of Godantī Bhasma, Samudraphena (cuttle fish os) and flower of Śirīṣa and apply as Añjana. 

3. Varti of equal part of fine powder of flower of Jātī (jasmine), Lākṣā (lac) Gairika (ochre), Candana (sandalwood) and Saindhava (rocksalt) – 4 parts and contused in 1 part of decoction of Triphalā is to be applied in the eye as Añjana. 

4. Añjana prepared from equal part of fine powder of Mudga Satuśa (plascolus bean with epicarp) and Śaṅkha Nābhi (central portion of conch) contused in honey is to be applied in the eye. 

5. Añjana of decorticated seed of Vibhītaka (beleric myrobalan) contused in honey is to be applied in the eye.
